We grow our own hops.
In 2015 we established our own 1/4 acre hopyard, the first of its kind in Norfolk. We’re proud of the quality of our beers, and having access to our own hop supply not only allows us to have greater control over quality, but also reduces environmental impact.
Harvesting in late summer, we brewed with freshly picked green hops, to make special green hop beers. These were eagerly consumed in a few pubs in Norfolk. Fresh hops have a different flavour profile from the hot-air dried hops normally used in brewing which is reflected in the final product. We then froze the rest of the crop, and believe that we are in the unique position of being able to produce green hopped beer throughout the year.
We grow the following hop varieties:
